Kingston Animal Hospital

Been taking my dog here since he was 12 weeks old. They have been caring, friendly, and overall super helpful. I haven’t met one rude staff member here and they always do their best to get your pet what they need. The doctors are very knowledgeable as well are the vet techs and they go into detail with things if need be which I love. Best care you can get around here and they always remember who we are, now that’s some A1 service! :) highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new vet!

brought my baby in today for the first time. he has rashes, skin irritation and hasn't been feeling great recently. i was nervous considering it was his first visit to any kind of animal hospital, and because of the vets and their clear compassion for animals, my trip was more than satisfactory and i loved how they treated him. for a check-up, skin examination and 2 shots, it cost me $211, and i would've easily paid more without hesitation. thank you to the vets and staff for today, i appreciate you all and the work you do <3

It was New Year’s weekend and my usual vet was closed. My dog was quite sick, so I called Kingston Animal Hospital. They were so nice to give us an appointment right away. The staff and Dr. Alden were great. They took great care of my dog. He got the medicine he needed and started feeling better right away. Prices were very fair and consistent with other vets I’ve visited.

The blatant disregard the office gave when we had to say goodbye to our family member was so disrespectful. As we’re trying to say our last goodbyes we could hear the staff and others conversing and laughing loudly outside the door. We understand life continues and goes on for everyone but there was a very special life we lost that day. Then 3 weeks later we received a reminder in the mail that our now past pup would be due for shots in the upcoming month. That’s something you’d hope a hospital would be on top of, and could have saved our family from feeling the pain all over again of knowing they were gone. Absolutely unbelievable, and unforgivable. I hope they do better for others.

October 23, 2023 Thank you Kingston Animal Hospital. I want to especially recognize the vet tech or vet assistant Bree. She was great. Took extra care with my cat sweet pea, And made both of us feel so comfortable. She was totally professional and personable. Thank you Joyce Romano I would like to complement the Animal Hospital for being such an excellent vet and provider! We did we took our cat in yesterday and the doctor. ( Dr. Morgan) called me first thing this morning to report on the blood work. He was extremely helpful professional and nice. Not only that they worked with my schedule difficulties and did everything to accommodate us to get an earlier appointment. The whole office is great and so personable and helpful. Dr. Morgan went the extra step to make sure that we could be seen sooner and I feel we are getting the best quality of care for our cat. While Dr Alden and the front off staff have always been very friendly i am extremely disappointed that the office managers “policy” is to deny patients valuable treatment like heart worm prevention simply because their owner does not feel the $300 annual blood work is necessary. While i understand and was willing to pay for the heart worm snap test, i was told by the dr that her hands are tied due to the policy and she could not treat my dog without this additional ridiculously expensive blood work. My dog left without being allowed her heart work preventative because i would not agree to the unrelated labs. Apart from this, i even called the office a week prior to the appointment, after hearing this same complaint from a friend, to make sure that my dog could get proheart even though we would not be proceeding with the blood work. I was told by a receptionist that the dr would of course give the proheart and she would just need the snap test, which i agreed to. She told me the only thing the office would refuse is prescription take home medication without the full panel, which was fine with me. This was clearly a lie to get me in the door because my dog left without treatment. I called several other vets who do not have office managers making the medical decisions and they don’t force treatment and tests on the owners and bully them into getting extra labs. Again i love and will miss dr Alden and dr rugg, but i took my 2 pets medical records and will be going elsewhere after 9 years. I hope the office manager Jessica chooses the treatment of animals and respect of owners wishes over greed someday. I was just trying to get my dog protection against heart worm.
